Hi, I’m Sharlene (but usually go by Shar) and I have a Bachelor in Health Science, where I majored in Naturopathy and Nutrition. I have also studied sports nutrition and have gained my Level One Recreational Running accreditation through Athletics Australia.
I have a strong passion for all things nutrition and exercise, particularly running. I have been a runner for many years now and have completed 3 marathons and countless half marathons and 10kms races.
In that time I've experienced hitting the wall (never fun!) and at the other end of the spectrum, the joys of being a well fuelled runner - being well fuelled wins every time and I want to help other runners be the best well fuelled versions of themselves that they can be.
I love combining my knowledge of nutrition and how this can be used to fuel performance and I hope that sharing my knowledge will help you too! Being a masters, middle of the pack athlete, I understand the challenges us ladies over 45yrs face with ensuring we fuel our bodies correctly so we can keep on running hopefully for the rest of our lives.
I don’t believe in ‘good’ or ‘bad’ foods, ‘clean eating’ is a ridiculous term and don’t even get me started on keto or paleo!
So I know that I am not going to be for everyone and that’s not a worry, but if you’re looking to reach your goals and embrace a lifestyle that nourishes both body and soul, I would love to hear from you.
